Shipping day: KaKeKiKoKu Studio 1.0 is on the Microsoft Store
After a year of failed installers and long conversations with AIs, KaKeKiKoKu Studio 1.0 is finally downloadable.
A year ago I wrote down an idea that probably shouldn't work. Today it's a free download on the Microsoft Store. I'm not sure which feels stranger — the year that went by, or the green button on the Store page.
For months I watched YouTubers piecing together AI workflows by hand, biting my tongue. I had the tool for that on my screen — but my installer refused to cooperate outside my dev machine. Local Windows accounts, MSIX quirks, Claude Code installer bugs. Studio always worked. The environment didn't. Weeks spinning in circles (my wife had a name for it: the eternal maker-of-things).
For months I talked to three different AIs about this product, alone. Sometimes I wondered whether I was building something nobody wanted — or whether I'd gone a little crazy. When I finally showed a small group of friends, they told me I wasn't. That was more than I'd admit I needed.
What fascinates me in hindsight is that I spent a year building something I couldn't even explain in a single sentence. How do you develop a thing you can't put into words? Apparently, slowly. (Without Claude Opus, this would still be version 0.4.)
KaKeKiKoKu Studio 1.0 is an Alpha release. Windows only. At launch it shines with Claude Code + Pro/MAX — other setups work, but that's where the flow was tuned first. The direction is broader: MCP-first, same knowledge, more agents as the ecosystem catches up.
This is a beginning, not a finish line. I want to grow it into something bigger, but I'd rather build that in public with the people who use it than list features I haven't shipped.
If you use Claude Code, install it, run it on a real project, and tell me what breaks. DMs open. I'll keep going as long as people find it useful.
